Christopher Vega
(17 years old) came to the Casa Ignacio in December, 2006 after spending a few years in the same orphanage as Ruben and Ignacio, run by the Sisters of Charity. He is tiny in size, very inquisitive and intelligent, also very sociable. His mother’s whereabouts had been unknown until recently when she “reappeared” in Christopher’s life. His father has had alcohol problems but seems on the mend now. The most influential person in his life has been his paternal grandmother who has shown most interest in the boy. He shows a lot of promise. He completed his entire five year high school career with us. Everyone in the school knows who “Christopher” is. He has studied English off an on over the years and has a good command of the language. He wants to major in economics and will prepare himself to enter in the “Universidad del Pacifico,” probably the best school in the country in that field.
