(21 years old) arrived at the Casa Javier four years ago. He is a native of a small village in the mountain province of Cuzco. He was four years old when his mother came to Lima. His mother could not support her many children and put Edgar in an orphanage (“Peru Project” – funded by a British Foundation) when he was six years old. He remained there until he was fifteen when he returned to his family. He was recommended by two nuns who have worked with his family—living with us has given him the opportunity to find a profession. He graduated from high school in 2012 in a nearby Salesian night school. He studied English in an institute but didn´t do well. He is beginning his second year in the Salesian Institute studying Electronics. He also has worked for a year as a busboy in a restaurant and currently has a summer job in a textile factory.
